Sickness Insurance Quotes

Accident and sickness insurance is simply ASU without the unemployment element. There are two types of sickness insurance quote available:-

ASU is a policy intended to provide short term benefit (Up to 24 months benefit). This type of policy can be cancelled at any time by the insurer, and we therefore recommend that you consider a PHI policy if you require a permanent sickness insurance policy.

PHI or permanent health insurance is a plan designed to provide long term sickness cover (Benefits can be paid up to age 65). This type of income replacement policy cannot be cancelled by the insurer, except in the case of non payment of premiums.

Which one is right for me?

There is no right answer for this as it depends on your age and occupation and we therefore recommend you take advice. We often recommend a combination of the two types of policy, dependent on age, occupation and cirecumstances.

For example if you are in a hazardous occupation you may take a short term policy to cover the first 52 weeks and a PHI policy to take over after that. However if you are in a low hazard white collar occupation such as Doctor , Dentist or Accountant we would generally recommend a Permanent health insurance policy with a 4 week deferred period.
