Their policies are for Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance only and to cover your monthly mortgage and related insurances (plus and additional 25% extra if required). For example, for unemployment cover it will pay a benefit per month that covers your mortgage and mortgage related insurance payments if you become unemployed. Many policies of this nature have an unemployment exclusion period at the start of the policy so they will not pay monthly benefit for unemployment before this exclusion period has passed. Paymentshield will waive this unemployment exclusion period if you have a new mortgage or remortgage. All their plans offer a 30 day excess (where you start to accrue benefit after 30 days), or back to day one benefit which pays the monthly benefit from the first day you were unable to work due to unemployment or disability.
