They offer a choice of cover to protect monthly mortgage repayment, they can even offer to cover buy to let mortgages and for loan repayments or rent, plus up to 25% of other regular monthly commitments over and above the following buildings and contents insurance, life insurance.

Many policies of this nature have an unemployment exclusion period at the start of the policy so they will not pay monthly benefit for unemployment before this exclusion period has passed.
